Production

Our focus is on natural materials and cherishing what surrounds us.

Materials

For the first collection, our most obvious choice of material is linen. Linen fibre is very durable, absorbent and fast drying. 100% linen can be recycled and it is biodegradable.

Every part of the flax plant has traditionally been used to create a worthwhile product – nothing is wasted. Flax is resilient and can grow in poor soil. Unlike cotton, it requires no artificial irrigation or pesticides.

Manufacturing

The linen used in our garments is spun and woven in Lithuania in a factory maintaining Oeko-Tex 100 certifications. The yarns are dyed before weaving into fabrics. Dying the yarns gives the final articles a much stronger colorfastness compared to garment dyed linens.

Finally the fabrics are sent to our partner company in southern Estonia for cutting and sewing. We make efforts not to overstock materials and garments to avoid waste. Where possible, leftover fabric pieces are used to produce tote bags and smaller goods.

There can be no sustainable manufacturing without commitment to lasting design. Our goal is to make garments which can transcend seasonal trends, last in daily use, be repaired when necessary and finally be recycled.
